Who invented plastic?
World’s first fully synthetic plastic was Bakelite, invented in New York in 1907 by Leo Baekeland, who coined term plastic.
Plastic is all around us and also it is very vital for all of us but due to it’s overuse it becomes perilous for nature as well as all of us.
Plastic is non-biodegradable and they take 1 thousand and millions of years to decompose. Plastic pollute the land, air, water and soil. Also it is menacing for animals and birds.
Might you don’t know but over 1 million marine creatures and other birds and animals die each year from plastic trash.
You will be astound to know that around 8.3 billion ton of plastic have been created by humans since 1950’s and from that only 9% has been recycled.
How plastic is affecting our environment?
➤ The toxic chemicals used to manufacture plastic gets transferred to animal tissue and finally entering the human food chain.
➤ Plastic bags can block water ways and causes natural disaster. Plastic debris is found everywhere.

➤ The litter of plastic bags in the ocean isn’t allowing air to pass to the marine animals and they are getting suffocated.
